Emperors Children 2

If anyones interrested thats actually and RTB01 beaky head... first one to get that gets a cookie.

Alternative paint scheme for my Emperors Children. I wanted to use more imperial parts than the standard chaos marines as if they were closer to the heresy than the 40K universe is set. I had in mind that this is how they would have looked when they invaded the Emperors Palace at the end of the Hersey, before they got all twisted and chaosy.

Not sure if it works, maybe I should have done a full emperors children original paint scheme.

The paint scheme on them is realatively simple, but I make it very hard on myself.

The pink has one shade and one highlight, the shade being a couple of ink washes to neaten up the edges a bit and a simpe 1:1 pink to white highlight, but watered down a lot and applied in stages to make it blend in better.

The black is actually the spray base coat, I know they say that you should always paint over it, but hell, it comes out nice and flat and its a good colour. There are three greys, straight out of the pots used as the line highlights (codex, fortress and space wolf, not sure in what order!) BUT most importantly I then get the black and neaten them up - im not careful enough and dont have a steady enough hand to paint the line higlights neat enough on their own.
