This single miniature makes me want to redo all 5000pts of Space Marines as Imperial Fists. Damn you and your awesomeness!

Dont do it!!

I always get like that. I see something that really inspires me, and then I end up with 10 beautiful models in the new colours and still no finished armies...

On the one hand, you're totally right. Deciding to redo everything on a whim based on an inspiring mini that I'm relatively sure I lack the skills to replicate is probably a bad idea.

On the other hand, a lot of my marines are long past due to be stripped and redone anyway, seeing as I've had some of these miniatures for, like, a decade, and I was /not/ a good painter ten years ago.

Also Imperial Fists are just badass.

I actually regret re-doing many of my older models. I had the money, I just chose to re-do them rather than buy new ones. Had I have actually done so, irrelavent of how bad they were, at least I might have finished an army in the last 20 years...

However I do also get a big kick from seeing an old 'favourite' model redone and looking the best I can make it (some of my space wolves got that treatment)

best part of 10 hours if I recall.

Stupid waste of time on a single trooper really...

Its probably because I never use any actual yellow paint on the model.

Its white, heavily yellow inked, light flesh ink wash, flesh ink wash lining and then highlighting.

I cant stand bright yellow models like normal imperial fists.

This however is far too time consuming for me to do enmass - its like 2 hours per model.

I like how your rendition of the yellow is more subdued than most Imperial Fist paint schemes end up being. Easier on the eyes overall.
